#15 How Did This Happen?

Well, Hayley is 15 years old.
I am officially old.
I have also turned into the dumbest person on the planet. Just ask her. She'll tell you how I know nothing.
She is 15 years old and now knows everything. Just ask her. She'll tell you that too.
It's hard to think of her growing up. Hard for me to accept. Actually, she makes some days real easy for me. On those days I start adding up the years until she's off on her own. Only 3 more years.
Only three more years with me. Only three more years for me to shape whom she may become. Or has that process already taken place? Can I still influence her future? Somedays I feel that's no longer within my reach.
15 years goes by quickly. I am certain it was just yesterday she was curled in my lap sucking on her two middle fingers.
There are many things that drive me crazy about my 15 year old daughter. But for this day .. I want to focus on all the things that I adore about this chic...
* She makes me laugh.
* She is a great shopping buddy.
* She will still crawl in my bed late at night after watching a scary movie.
* When I ask her if I look okay .. she always always says I am the prettiest mom ever.
* She surprises me with the best cups of hot chocolate. Complete with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
* She loves to curl up with me and watch CSI.
* She can talk her way out of most any situation. Drives me crazy but I've got to respect that talent!
* She's got great ideas.
* I love watching her with Sophie. She loves that dog like a sister.
* She is passionate about life.
I love you Hayley ... all 15 years of you!

You are the prettiest Mom ever. Oh and I wonder where she learned to talk her way out of any situation... how many tickets have you gotten out of. You have obviously shaped her well.

happy birthday Hayley.
