This is what I walked in to the other day. Nine kids in my house .. at least three of whom I have never seen before. This is a typical day for us. On average there are at least 8-12 kids over here. I don't want to sound like I am complaining (yeah right ... that's what I do best) because at least I know where my kids are and it's nice that my house is the gathering place (right? right? this is nice right?).
BUT it does get annoying on different occasions. One ... when parents knock on my door to tell me what one of my boys have done to their precious child.
Hayley .. "MOM .. ANOTHER parent is at the door!"
I don't know any of these parents .. no one ever comes to introduce themselves or to even ask if it's okay that their child spend five hours at time over here. I only get the pleasure of meeting these parents when their child gets hurt. Awesome.
Another annoying aspect is that I feed all of them. Sometimes lunch, on occasion dinner but more often snacks. One box of cookies can be gone in seconds. It's like I have to hide food. I don't exactly know how to work this ... I try to bring just my boys in to give them a snack but it's hard to say no to another child who sneaks in. Then of course that child runs out with his snack to announce to everyone else ... you know where that leads.
I think I am a push-over. What kid wouldn't want to come to a house where it's hard for the mother to say no?
At least I can get them to take their shoes off at the door.

You know how I feel about snacks... but really, the other parents would drive me out of my mind. You just have to be mean and then they won't come over anymore and your kids can go to their house for five hours. Then you can eat all the cookies yourself.
I think it is great that your boys enjoy one legged kids, too. or did that kid only take of one of his shoes?
