Double Digits

Jack-man turns 10!

I love that all my kids birthday's are in the summer. My favorite season. How appropriate.

Jackson ... my middle child. My peacemaker. My old soul.

He wanted his birthday dinner with family at the Outback. I got him a cake from Child's bakery (THE best pastry shop ever) and met Grandmom, Grandpa and Uncle Shawn at the Outback for his dinner. All he wanted was a full order of cheese fries to himself. Easy. For an easy kid.

Oh so many things to love about my J-man ...

* he's so sensitive. to my feelings. to other's feelings. very perceptive little boy.

* Jackson is always wanting to please.

* he's my cleaner. he loves organization and order. who wouldn't love that in a child?

* always thinking. he is always surprising me with where his thoughts lead him. places I can't imagine .. thoughts that fascinate me.

* i love that he tries so hard in school. he worries about tests. makes sure he is prepared for class. never ever would go to school without his homework complete.

* calm. even. Jackson levels our family.

* i think what I love most about Jackson is that he isn't shy about showing affection towards me. i love that. he will still hug me in front of others ... he still holds my hand in public.

Double digits and all .. Jackson is still a very lovable kid. He's an easy kid for me to raise. Probably because of all my children he is most like me. I understand how he operates so therefore it's easier to parent him.

I love who you are Jackson. 10 years of good times... many more to come!!
