Head injuries and Pogo sticks

So .. the day came. Again.

Eli injured himself. Again.

The story goes like this .. He was walking across the garage and tripped over a bike. Fell and hit his head on the floor. He cried.

I didn't think much about this because it's a daily event .. him getting hurt. Until he went inside, fell asleep on the couch for an hour. So not typical of Eli. When he woke he continued to cry about a headache. One eye was blurry... but then came the nausea. Darn. I knew at that point it was time to get in the car and make the trip to our home away from home.

Emergency Room.

The doctor examined him. Gave him a series of tests. A pill for the nausea. Some meds for the headache. Determined that he had a concussion.

What was funny .. when the nurses and doctor's took a look at him, their first thought was not that he was knocked in the side of the head but that he was knocked face first. He had a pogo stick accident the day before and those scratches were still pretty fresh. Nope, we're not in here for the face lacerations .. just the blow to the side of the head.

Instructions upon discharge ..

No riding bikes
No riding the skateboard
No scooter
No watching TV
No playing the Xbox
No reading

What do we do? Stand in the corner and stare at the wall? This outta be a fun week.

(case in point .. we get home around 10pm .. I can't find Eli in the house. yeah, he's in the garage ON his skateboard. he did have a helmet on -with the cobwebs still attached- he was trying.)
