They missed me.
It's been a couple of months.
Clearly they are reaching, just so they can have contact with me. That's gotta be it.
I am speaking of Castlewood Ranch HOA.

In the mail today I got not one but two letters from them. All in one day. Special. You would think that they would want to save on postage and put both the violations in one letter. Nope.
Okay, so the first violation today is .. get this .. really ...
** PAINT YOUR HOUSE. You have until Oct 31st to complete this. This letter is dated Sept 11th.
Really? I only spent close to $3,000 this summer completing that small project. Honestly, what an insult! That was done back in July.
Next one is even more laughable.
**OIL STAIN VIOLATION. You have an oil stain in your driveway. You have 10 days to clean it up.
I instantly scan my driveway for the preposterous ugly oil stain. It must be huge. How could I have overlooked this erroneous error?? As I am thinking of my Honda van I just traded in ... always garage kept - it was new .. it never leaked oil. Then thoughts to my new shiny toy. CERTAINLY the beamer wouldn't EVEN have a runny nose. No way.
THEN I SPOT IT (no pun intended). The stain. The ugly horrible .. very small, circle of a stain. At the very end of the driveway. On the sidewalk. A crayon melted there last week.
Oh my .. I should actually be calling hazmat to clean this one up. I mean, really .. think of the toxins. The poison to my neighborhood. Not to mention how just unsightly that looks. Certainly not 'aesthetically pleasing' to the eye.
These guys must work on commission .. they get paid for how many violations they can hand out.

I think they're due for a call from a certain Marine you know very well and maybe a legal charge of harassment.
I was going to ask...didn't you just paint your house? It looks GREAT by the way. Jeez. I'd definitely try and talk to these people and make sure they know they are on the edge of harassing you. HOW ANNOYING.

You give people an ounce of power and they loose their minds! Honestly! If I were you I would embarrass the idiots by calling the paper and sending the story to them! It really is quite funny! Especially the oil stain!
Seven years ago, when we were landscaping our yard I sent in a design request for something and they of course denied it do to some stupid measurement from the fence line or something crazy like that. I have never submitted a request again and have never had a word!
On the other hand, I did ask them once about their "design" in the open area behind my fence (where grass is overgrown and weedy and ugly and obnoxious clover seeps under my fence) why they don't make that area look nicer. Their claim was that they wanted it to look "native" in that little area. Funny, my neighbors were getting fines for their yet unlandscaped backyard having the same "native" look! Nazis!
How inconsiderate of you not to put a wet paint sign on your house. And, to top that why would you let kids play in your driveway to take the chance of making that HUGE oil mark. Geez, you need to step it up. You live in America you know - the "Land of the Free?"

In all seriousness-- is there someone on the HOA that lives nearby? Maybe that mom that you never called back? I think there is someone that is out to get you-- don't give in! Fight like someone who placed third in a race would!
