Frankenfoot

So all the weird stuff happens to Hayley. Random stuff. I can never ever guess what will happen to Hayley next. We are always at the doctor's office for something. Usually it's that I don't really believe her but she never disappoints. Here are some recent diagnosis:

Eosinophilic Esophagitis (she takes nexium and flovent for that daily)
Query exercise - induced asthma (albuterol inhaler)
Allergic Rhinoconjuncitivitis (I'll post a blog later about this one)
Migraines (zomig takes care of that)
Anxiety attacks (xanax for that - about twice a month)


The latest - a couple of months ago she was complaining about a bump on the bottom of her foot. Sure enough. A lump. At first the family practice doctor thought it was a blister on the inside of her foot. (really??) The foot doctor had a different opinion.


There's some technical name but basically some of the fat from her heel leaked from a tear inside the foot. G-R-O-S-S!! So it was a lump of fat .. that would never go away. We left it alone for awhile until it got to be painful. The only cure for that was to surgically remove it and internally repair the tear.


Last Friday she had that procedure done. It's a bit more painful than anticipated. She's got a boot and crutches that she hasn't mastered. She hops but mostly crawls around the house. It's easier than using the crutches and the boot is too painful to wear at this point. I try hard not to laugh when I'm in the kitchen and she comes crawling in to get a drink.



We made the right choice by doing this while she's on break and not having to miss a million days of school that she can't afford to miss. Not according to Hayley though. To her .. her time off sucks and Christmas is ruined. We hear about it every other second.
