Burns, breaks and bad-A dog

The past two days have been typical days in the Wester household.
Jackson put ramon in the microwave to cook (that he's done really .. a MILLION times before .. as it's a staple in our home). Three minutes later .. horrible, awful smell. He put it in the microwave but forgot to put water in it. WOW... the picture can't come CLOSE to what it actually smelled like. Two days later .. still reeks in this house..

Today a pyrex pie dish fell from the cabinet and broke into a billion pieces. All over the kitchen. Shattered isn't a good work to describe the damage done. I hate cleaning up glass because I am never quite sure if I got it all. Like what if I missed just a sliver and it slices someones foot or hand later? (another trip to the ER .. that's what)

As I was cleaning up the glass in the kitchen .. I hear laughter radiating from the family room. It's a good sound so I stop what I am doing to see if I can join in. Yes, I can. They had Sophie dressed up .. and to top it off she's got a hockey puck in her mouth. It was pretty dang funny. What made it even more hysterical is that Hayley told her to "sit" and she did and wouldn't move. A muscle. Sat there stone still for everyone to get their jollies. She didn't move until the hat was removed.

I'm learning in a hard, patient kind of way that life is just never textbook. Things happen and it's not worth the pain to get upset (because that doesn't change the outcome in the least). You can either laugh and find something humorous in the situation or get mad and be cranky about it.
I'm learning to let go .. to let life happen ... shoulders down ... chin up.

I love stories like this because then I know that other people have the same struggles enjoying life too. There is so much that is simple and precious so we must enjoy these times! I can't tell you how many times I recite.. relax, shoulders down, and chin up! Thanks for the reminder
