Hockey

So Eli wanted to sign up for hockey after basketball was over. Sweet .. no problem. AFTER signing him up I quickly realized that hockey has to be the MOST EXPENSIVE SPORT ever invented.

Helmet (used) $25

Skates (used) $40

Stick and gloves (on clearance) $30

Elbow and knee pads (borrowed)

Breezers (new) $30

Shoulder pads (new) $30

Wow. He really better LOVE the heck out of this sport. And he just might. We had our first practice Monday night. He's never played before. Hardly even skates. He got out there and rocked it. His coach seems like a keeper and is really good with them. Eli fell a whole lot .. and got right back up. It was super cool to see him not give up and trying his best.

Afterwards, we got to the car and he was grinning from ear to ear. His two comments were "I LOVE HOCKEY" and "what the heck were there two girls on my team for??". He took his helmet off and was dripping with sweat.

Maybe it was money well spent...
