Who started it?

If you are ever wondering who is to fault when there is a fight ... a 7,9 and 10 year old figured out the mystery for us ...

Listening as I cook to three boys having some deep conversation. As only little boys can do.

Jackson (10)"ever wonder who starts the fight? is it the first person or the second person?"

Eli (7)"it's the second person. they always give the first punch" (spoken by the expert as the one who usually delivers that punch)

Jack (9)"well, technically (am LOVING the use of large words out of little mouths... always a pleasure) .. it's the FIRST person who starts the fight. Think about it (again, this little guy is just always using each piece of his brain) .. the FIRST person is the one who said something to begin with to MAKE that second person hit him. The first person should just keep his mouth shut"

Jackson "yeah, the first person should always be the one to get in trouble. If it weren't for the first person, the second person wouldn't have had to punch him"

Eli "yeah" (it's very smart here for this guy to just agree .. it will serve him well in the future)
