Summer is here (seriously .. finally... )
Not sure why I feel the need to keep announcing this ...(but I like how it sounds)
I LOVE it. My favorite season BY FAR. Yesterday it was even too hot to run outside (95 degrees) but as I had to drive to the gym to run I was not cursing. (like I do when it's freezing and I can't run) ... I had my sunroof open, music blaring and I was singing. GLORIOUS ...
The only thing summer brings that I just don't care for is .. ever dreaded gardening. I suck at it. When I say suck .. it's not an understatement. It's true and I just don't care. I will put a half hearted effort into it to try and make it work but I fail anyway so what's the point.
Here are some examples of my poor skills when it comes to this area ...
The grass I kill. It's an annual event. It happens at the beginning of every single summer. You would think I would learn from the previous years .. but no .. I'm like that. So it will take a monumental effort once again to get the stuff green again.
Here we have what could be a beautifully landscaped flower bed all along the backside of my fence. Right. Not my house. This is what you call a flower bed FULL of weeds. The nasty to my waste thorny ones. Because of my laziness .. my lack of skills .. I have let the weeds just take over. And honestly, I kinda don't even care. At this point though I either need a backhoe or a professional landscaper ($3000 - like I'm gonna pay that so that NEXT year it can look like this AGAIN).

But check out this skill. This is under our tramp. It's the greenest grass I can grow. And it grows extremely tall. Along with the weeds mixed in. This again, is a result of mostly my laziness and not wanting to move the tramp to mow under (but really .. do you KNOW how heavy that thing is to move each time? It takes me 30 minutes just to manipulate it an inch at a time so that the mower can get it all .. THEN I've got to move the thing BACK).

Oh and this is what I find when I do muster up the energy, courage and fortitude to go out there and start working. It's a mouse... a dead one. I went back inside and called it a day.
WHY IS YARD WORK SO HARD??
AND WHY DO SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY ENJOY IT??
A mystery of the universe I shall never hope to solve.

So far the sprinkler system has been on a total of two weeks. I've sunk $200 in repairs to that thing.

And here, I would much rather do yard work than run! BTW, children do very well at yard chores! Put those boys to work! You need help, let me know! We can make a yard party out of it and I will bring all my helpers and equipment and we will have it ship shape in no time! I also have secrets for a green lawn! If you are interested that is!
well, my whole back yard looks like your little flower patch, though Frank is clearing it AGAIN, little by little. One day I'll get smart and start renting fix-it-frank out...huh!
I'm just proud of you for mowing your lawn!! Kuddos to you gf!!
