Shh...

I was thinking today about stupid things that others don't know about me that I seem to be ashamed of. But why be ashamed of who I am and the things I like or don't like. There is such a social stigma to everything. I think I'll just come out of the closet on a few of my 'secrets'.. maybe I'll start with just 10. Besides, I can't let the goods out all at once. What fun would that be?

1 - I still lick the beaters. It's bad. Sometimes I make desserts and quickly lick BOTH of them before my kids can catch me (or worse yet, want some).

2- I like Brittney Spears. Really, I do. I mean, it's not like I look up to her or anything but I can still listen to her songs and enjoy them. Right? Have you heard her new song "Womanizer"... such a great song to run to. What woman hasn't had one of those guys in her life at some point. We all know one.

3- I used to watch Desperate Housewives religiously. I also secretly wished I lived on Wisteria Lane. Can you imagine how fun that would be? Reality though .. where have you ever lived that had that many good looking women on one street. Really. I'd like to think I have a little of all those women in me.

4- I am addicted to the red clearance stickers at Target. My eye is trained to look for them now. It's an illness really because sometimes I get things home that I bought and think why the heck did I need that? Clearly it was because it had the red sticker on it.

5- I sometimes text during church. Under the fly. Especially in sacrament meeting when I find myself yawning. I even pretend I am looking for something in my bag and do it while I lean down... just in case Hayley is looking.

6- I hide candy in my room. Just for me. I don't share. It's such a comfort. Don't we all have those times when life becomes so overwhelming that the only thing that will help is a piece of chocolate?

7- I love those tabloid magazines in the check out line. If I weren't so embarrassed to even pick one up I would buy them all and read them cover to cover. While standing in line, I read everything I can on the front cover about Brangelina and who might have an eating disorder and which person is now cheating on who. Fascinating. I try and look away to make sure no one is watching me before taking one last peek while most of my things have moved so far up the belt I have to move too.

8- I am a middle of the night eater. I try to stop and I just can't. I've been this way since I was just a little girl. Honestly I get up and am so sleepy I can't hardly make it down the stairs but I will do it even if it kills me. A 3am snack. It's usually a handful of chocolate chips, or a cookie .. sometimes a pickle or if I'm feeling really frisky I'll even eat some leftovers. Don't try to picture this .. it's not pretty.

9- I still sleep with a silky. It's actually a silk pillowcase. Do you know how hard those are to find these days? I try to keep some new ones for back up in case of emergencies. I can't sleep without it. I take it with me when I travel. Oh .. I do put it on a pillow. Don't ask .. that's all I have to say about this subject.

10 - I love to ride my kids scooters. It's SO much fun. I do it when I think no one is looking. See .. this is what I am talking about. Why do I need to be ashamed of having a good time, even if it's not age appropriate? If I want to ride a scooter in the middle of the day when none of my kids are even home, I should be able to. It makes me feel young again .. carefree .. I giggle. It's fun. Come on over .. I have a couple of extras. We can ride together!

... and now, I am going to eat chocolate.

so nothing to do with your blog post but we have two friends in common. Alycia R and Rosie T, but I don't think I've met you? Funny now I'm on a hunt to see who else connects in such a funny way. It's a small world after all.

I like that I at least knew some of those things about you already (York patty?)! I had a friend who seriously broke her arm trying to go off a skateboard ramp in front of her son and his friends... keep the scooter under wraps so you don't devestate your kids.

I knew a few of those things and am guilty of a few. I would love to live on Wisteria lane. There would never be a dull moment....EVER!

You want to know my dirty little secret? I'm addicted to Gossip Girl, of all things! It's one of the only shows that can keep me on the treadmill in the mornings.
