I saw these 'silly bands' this summer when I was at Ashley's house. Apparently it started on the east coast and has now migrated to Colorado. I thought they were cute on her girl's wrists ... but at the same time figured they'd never make it into our home (isn't it like a bracelet .. isn't this like a girly thing?).
Well .. I was wrong. Who knew that even BOYS wear these things? And like a lot of them. Eli even has some pink ones. Stacked on both arms. I'm actually shocked.
I guess you collect them, trade them, wear them, talk about them, sort them, admire them ... it's all the rage right now. They come in themed packs of different shapes .. animals, sports, instruments, numbers, etc ... My boys can't get enough of them. And I guess tons of other kids like them A LOT too because they are becoming a distraction in the school and are being banned.
Whoever thought of these simple plastic bands is a genius. They are also very wealthy right now ...
SO SILLY!!

We too have been introduced to silly bands this summer...They are all over the house, the yard, the car...sooooo annoying! Julia was just telling me that the girl next to her at school stole her "duck" silly band and she was sure it was hers. I get the ban on them!
It's funny how quickly things catch on. I gave them out at John's birthday party in June and the kids were kind of like, "huh?" I'll bet they know what they are now!
Dude, kids are wearing them in our ward and it drives me nuts. Our MISSIONARIES have them. Stupid, right? The things that trend. Whatever...
Funny thing...I just got back from walgreens and bought the sports rings.
Thanks for the tip gf!!
