GNO

Sat night was GNO. I met Shay and Robin at Union downtown Castle Rock for dinner. Yummy food ... and funny conversation. Afterwards we were heading to a movie so stopped at Walgreen's for some movie candy.

I don't know why when the sun goes down .. the goofy comes out. Not in others, but in me. I can't help myself. I like to have fun ... but most would call it immaturity.

Oh well. At least I'm laughing. And so are my peeps.

So Shay leads the way in her car because she's taking us the back way to the theater that Robin and I don't know so well.

Ironically on the way out of Walgreens Shay said I could follow her and she'll try to drive fast so I won't get so annoyed with her. Note to anyone reading .. don't EVER do this ...

Right. We all three pass the cop car on the side of the road. I'm last .. he pulls out behind me and turns on the light .. I move over .. he passes ... Robin moves over .. he passes. Shay moves over .. he pulls right behind her.

Like the good girlfriends that Robin and I are we do pull over too ... to take a picture to capture the moment. Fortunately he doesn't give her a ticket but just wanted her to know that there's a school on that road and people forget. Shay looks at her watch and does the wrinkled eyebrow (it's 8pm)

We make it to the theater and thanks to Shay's out of control speeding .. we get to miss the previews.

The movie we saw was Easy A. SO FUNNY.

I broke out the Pop Rocks (remember those??) candy and throw them in my mouth. THE FUNNIEST thing ever. They were SO loud in the theater. I couldn't stop laughing .. and when I'd laugh .. they'd go down my throat and start popping in there. At one point .. I put and entire hand full in ....

(use your ears .. not your eyes for the video clip)

While beside me you've got Robin. She bought this yummy smelling lotion before our date and Shay wanted some. She had a little empty container in her purse ... so handed that to Robin. You've got Robin tap tapping the bottle on the armrest as she's filling it and me popping my candy. Shay's laughing hysterically on the other side of me. Remember Shay's laugh is contagious.

So others didn't appreciate our very own show we had going on .. but whatever. It was a teenage movie ... and I'm not sure you're even allowed in .. unless you act like a teenager (or a 10 year old - whatever)

BONUS for my friend Shay. I didn't have to ask her ONE FREAKING TIME about the movie. Totally understood the ENTIRE thing. Like I said .. about high schoolers. My level. Lots of sex talk. Aint gotta explain THAT to me. All ears .. and laughs. Oh and even a mention of an author that I actually recognized .. JUDY BLUME...

I so needed all those laughs. I even completed the journey by stopping at Target on the way home with 10 min to spare till they closed. Shay joined me there too ...

Good times ... good friends. .... it couldn't have been any sweeter.

Got a great reminder and quote from the movie in the form of a text from Robin ...

"REMEMBER .. don't be throwin' your cat at everyone"

also... if I start wearing a red letter A on my clothes ... Alana starts with an A and so does Awesome.
