I saw an envelope from our friendly neighborhood HOA in the mail box. My first thought was ...
"Ohhh .. how sweet. It's Christmas ... and they are sending out Christmas wishes"
This is what it said instead ...
"You are improperly anchoring your basketball hoop. Specifically, you are laying sand bags on top of the base. Please ensure that you refer to the manufacturer's guidelines and properly anchor the basketball hoop within (10) ten days."
and yes, it was in bold like that.
Okay ... FIRST OF ALL ... remember the last violation I had about the basketball hoop? Catch up here ....
We moved the net up at the top of the driveway as they asked. Now THIS?
You GOTTA be kidding me. First of all .. what if I didn't have sand bags on top so that you VISUALLY see that it's anchored. And just pretended there was water in the base. Not to mention that the 'manufacturer's guidelines indicate NOT to put water in the base if you live in an area where it freezes. The water will freeze and break the base.
Surely there HAS to be more pressing issues in my neighborhood.

for pete's sake?!!! Do you live next door to the HOA President or something?
I'm with Shay! What the heck? I live next to the secretary of the HOA and I can walk around and count a number of violations in our culdesac (including her) and never get a single notice! You really got on somebody's list, girl! If it were me, I would tell them to PACK SAND! :) Get it?
