On the ER ...

I'm liking my new title theme I've got going .. "On ...." Gonna stick with that for awhile cause it's working for me.

Well ... it's January and it's a new year. Seems every January of every new year, it's time for the token ER trip. Yup folks ... (check back the past two years on the blog. true story)

So ... four nights ago (uh-huh, it's taken that long for me to recover) ... here's how it all went down ..

Jackson and Eli. They are brothers. They love each other so. It runs deep.

They were "playing" on the stairs. I gave the mother speech. You know ...the "STOP IT guys .. or someone's gonna get hurt". And you know how that ends ... someone freaking gets hurt.

This time it's Jackson. The play-fighting turned into real-fighting. Jackson emerges with blood gushing out of his mouth. He's screaming. I can't tell where the blood is coming from. Finally got it cleaned up enough to realize that sure enough .. we will be making the trip north.

So here's a tip. The MOST inconvenient time to make a trip to the ER is when it's snowing. We had to wait forever for a room. He needed stitches. Apparently Eli clipped him with his elbow or his fist .. details are still sketchy. The hit was hard enough that his top teeth went through his entire upper lip. So nasty.

By the time the fourth person asked him what happened ... I could tell he no longer wanted to describe how his LITTLE brother got the best of him.

So four days later it looks pretty gnarly. Swollen lip, dried blood ... but worse than any of that is his bruised ego.

Funny ... I was thinking as I was sitting in the all too familiar room at the hospital that it's usually ALWAYS Eli making the trip. But then I realized .. oh yeah Eli IS the reason we were there.

We will be pressing charges on the perp. Look for the wanted posters at the elementary school...
