On the good son...

I like this picture of Jackson ... how he's touching Enoch's head. It's just who he is.

I'm not sure how I did it .. but I (purely by accident) created a wholesome son.

Jackson.

He's such a rule follower. A do the right thing kid.

The other night we were at Chili's and he wanted to take some of the chips and salsa home. So I got a to-go box and threw the chips in and the container with salsa.

Jackson ... "MOM!! You can't DO that. That is a plastic bowl .. it's theirs .. if you take it ... it's stealing"

me (like any good mom would say) "Jackson .. son ... it's okay. People do this all the time. It's cool ...chill"

Jackson ... "No mom. You can't. Will you please, please just ask for a to-go bowl we can take it home in? I mean .. do you know there are probably cameras all over this place?"

Yes .. because Chili's is just like the bank. Ready to bust bowl-stealers at the door.

Because I didn't want my child to see me go to jail that night .. I took the bowl out of the container. Law breaking averted.

Last weekend he came home with his weekly report. Under 'behavior" he just got a check. (he ALWAYS has a plus in that area). His teacher made it a point to write a note underneath that said "and this was only because he had some issues talking to his neighbor".

I read it and he recognized my look of shock right away. "No mom .. it's okay. I had been sitting next to my good friend. I felt like I couldn't stop talking to him so I did go to the teacher and I asked her to move me."

Wow. That's all I've got to say. That was Hayley's reaction too as she was sitting there listening. "Really Jackson? Mom .. this has to be stopped."

DUDE! Next day after a night at Red Lobster, I open some one's to-go box, I won't name names, (starts with a B) :), and there was the little blue plastic bowl that their cocktail sauce comes in! HAHAHAHAHA. Too bad Jackson wasn't there to help out.
What a funny story about school. What kid does that? Asks to be moved because he realizes he can't stop talking to his "good friend" and actually understands that its keeping him from paying attention. WHA????

Love it. Love you guys. Mean it.

I love that Jackson, always have and always will and if I had a daughter, he would be at the tippy top of my list of eligible bachelors.

I didn't know kids like that existed! And he's cute to boot. You are one lucky mama.

I say embrace it-- you never know how long it will last! John freaks out when we park halfway past the no parking sign... but disobeying rules at school... that's a whole different story.
