On New York, New York ...

I went on a quick two day trip to New York.

Never been.

Might not ever go back.

But it was pretty damn cool during the month of December.

I couldn't get over the sheer volume of people.  Like EVERYWHERE.  And by observation .. it's clear that people rule over cars there.  When volumes of people cross the street .. cars stop.  Even if it's their turn.  I can't imagine driving there.  Riding in the taxi made me sweat.

Walked miles and miles.  Saw cool stuff.  The big Christmas tree in the Rockefeller center.  Central Park.  A Broadway show.  Bright lights.  Oh and a flash mob.

There was a lot to take in.  I looked up a lot.  Went to Macy's.  Tiffany's.  Hershey store.  Ripley's Believe it or Not.  The cool Apple store.  FAO.  I got a Swatch.  How could I not?

The highlight though .. was probably the show.  The Book of Mormon.  My stomach hurt from laughing.  I am Mormon.  And I suppose as a Mormon I could have been offended.  But I wasn't.  Not in the least.  Yes .. it was sacrilegious .. harsh language .. offensive ... but really ...we do give the outside world a lot of material to work with.  It was written by the guys who made South Park.  Enough said.  But overall .. the message at the end of the show was a good one.  I walked away entertained but uplifted as well.  I would recommend a thousand times over .. if you can get tickets.

Thank you New York.  The time spent was golden.  Glad I went ... but it was also good to be back in a less noisy state.
