Georgia on my mind ...

On my way back to Colorado ...I met my mom in Georgia for a small family reunion.  Of sorts.  Sorts meaning .. family... and friends ... and neighbors ... and old friends.  Not friends of mine.  But my uncle's.  But obviously if it's a friend of his - I made a lot of new friends.

My favorite part was meeting my new little cousin.  So if my cousin has a baby...is that baby called my cousin too?  Because that's dumb.  I'd rather be her auntie.  But that would make me my cousin's sister.  And I'm not. But I could be.  Because my mom is her dad's sister.  Which practically makes us sisters.  Yeah.  That.  So the little baby cousin is my make believe sort of real life niece.  Meet baby Emma ...

Anyway .. she was super adorable.  And liked me.  I'm pretty sure of it.  Because she didn't cry or anything when I held her.  Most babies do that (the cry part).  But we bonded.  New babies smell so yummy.

Plus also ... I got to see her mom.  And her mom's sister.  Which is again ... sort of like my sister.  Except she's my cousin.  Which I don't like again .. because I'd like her as a sister too.

Kristen and Sarah.  My cousin-sisters.  Like Mormon sister-wives.  But not like that.

It was super fun to see my Uncle Jeff .. his new wife Mary (who is awesomely adorable, btw) .. my cousin-sisters and their husbands.  And friends.

Let me chat a little about the friends I refer to.  They are my uncle's old high school buddies.  Even Ms. Coffee High was there.  That's right people.  I talked to her.  And touched her.  Not inappropriate like .. but more as a long hug.  Anyway ... as the cousin-sisters and I were in the pool I got to observe some of these friends in conversation.  They talked about football plays they made in HIGH SCHOOL .. like 60 years ago.  How on earth do you remember that??  But you could totally tell they were athletic studs back in the day (no.  not really).  It was fun to watch.  I'll admit.  And even more fun the more they had to drink.  Around midnight several were in the pool fully dressed.  I can't make this up.

It was a quick trip.  Got to have some one on one time with my mama too.  She's also very pretty.  She should have been Ms. Coffee High instead.  She could STILL be Ms. Coffee High.  Really.  Here she is with baby cousin-niece Emma ... which would be her granddaughter if Kristen were my sister. But is it really her great niece?  Mind numbing.  But my mom's pretty.

And I would like to go back.  And visit.  And play in my uncle's pool.  Which .. is also awesome.  Ask Sarah my sister-cousin ... with the help of my brother-in-law-cousins ... she does a pretty legit fly and dive into that pool.  Clearly Olympic style.

And my uncle is awesome too.  I call him just "uncle" ... which works for me.  He's not even a cousin-uncle.

July was a good month.  A really good month.

Sounds like you had a great time! So if you were in Georgia, which isn't that far from where I am, why didn't you stop by and visit me? Don't you love me???? ;-)
