He brought this home from school ...
Lover of owls? Who would like to see .... Ohio?? Okay.
Seriously ... how does this happen? Every single pair of shoes he owns ends up like this.
This pic is in front of his school. Where he will have gone the entire K-6 in. This is huge considering none of my kids have had this pleasure being children of a military dad. But this picture in particular ... the first day of kindergarten I was walking him in. He was so nervous. He was about 5 steps ahead of me and looked back to make sure I was still with him. As he turned back around he ran smack - straight into this big metal thing. He cut his face ... and it gave him a nice bloody nose. Awesome first day memory. But it's Eli so it wouldn't happen any other way. MY POINT IS ... this metal thing knocked him in the FACE. As in ... he was pretty much eye level with the thing 5 years ago. It made me stop and catch my breath. How time flies. How my kids grow ... right in front of me and I don't even realize it. How days turn into weeks. Weeks into months. Months into years.
Dinner. Maybe I should have just said "dinner is ready" and left it at that.
I don't know why I like taking pics of this kid asleep. Maybe because it just reminds me that he's still my baby ...
