Keeping It Real

Got an email from Eli's teacher yesterday afternoon. He "flipped off, gave the finger or the bird - however you want to call it" (teacher's words - I thought that was cute) to a brother of one of his classmates as they were walking out of the classroom to go home.
Nice.

I asked him about it and got the typical "I was trying to point and accidentally used the wrong finger".

What do you say to that? Believe your child (first instinct)? Realistically this is Eli we are talking about so I have to keep that in check too.

He's 6.

What will I be dealing with when he's 16?

You are the best! Thanks for your supporting comment on my new blog.

John had this come up earlier this year and I felt like the mom that is always like, "Not my son!" but really he didn't even know what it meant, he was just copying someone. Eli on the other hand probably saw you flip someone off while you were driving the other day. I'm just saying...
