I am so fortunate to be surrounded by good friends. It feels like a warm blanket, indeed.
Last night a group of us went out for Allyson's bday dinner. Seven couples .. and me. This group of people can make me laugh like no other. I always end up with tears running down my face from laughing so hard. It's a good mix and we all get along so well.
When I first moved here .. there were like two, maybe three couples (plus me) that hung out all the time. It's grown .. and it's awesome.
Mostly the group consists of mormons. Amy is the lone non-member but we act as if she is one. She even knows all our 'mormon slang' now. She cracks me up when she describes this group to others. "yeah, they are mormon, but not the bun .. long dress ... and lots of wives -kind of mormons". Really . .it's more like the raunchy, disrespectful, push the envelope - kind of mormons. We all click .. we laugh ...we joke ... we understand each other ...
THIS GROUP ROCKS!
I wish I had a picture of all of us together. I never think to bring a camera to these events. I'm going to close my eyes and take a snapshot. There .. got it - forever etched in my memory.
Another thing that I really like about being around these people is that I never ever feel 'alone'. I am the only one without a partner with me but I never feel awkward or out of place. How cool is that? It's almost like they take me under their wing - each one filling in a different piece to my lonely puzzle. Makes me feel whole.
It's cool.
I love my peeps.
I don't know what I would do without them.

sorry to have missed that one!
I love good times like this one. I wish there was a better seating arrangement...I felt like I was a wedding or rs party! BUt it was still soo fun!
I too love they way I feel in this group! It is the closest thing to feeling like I am with family that I have had since I lived in Chicago. The Mormon IBS is the only down side. OH, I need the recipes for the lime jelly and the funeral potatoes!
