A is for Alana

I love that my name starts with an "A". Let me tell you a few good things that come from that...



I remember in school .. I was always at the front of whatever line because of my "A"



"A" always means a good grade. I like being associated with 'good' anything. I'll take that.



As an adult I have found something remarkable in this techy world with the first letter of my name being "A"... Under contacts, in cell phones .. I get to be ON TOP. Especially since the next letter of my name is an "l" then another "a". I'm just going to go out on a limb and guess that I am the FIRST contact in MOST of my friend's cell's. How do I know this? BECAUSE ... I get butt dialed ALL the time. Happens all the time. At first ... I found it annoying because I would get alllll excited that someone was calling me. Imagine the disappointment ...



me "hello?" (anxiousness in my voice .. perhaps I'm about to be invited to lunch)



....... nothing ..... or some crackles ... sometimes it's the radio in the background ....



me ... holding out hope - maybe they dropped their phone?? ".. silence..." Damn - hang up.



I have learned to embrace this though. If you aren't going to lock your phone and call me .. I'm just putting a disclaimer out there right now - whatever you are doing AT THAT MOMENT .. I WILL LISTEN TO IT. Whether it be having sex with your husband (I hope it was the husband) .. or chatting to the person next to you in Costco. I'm all ears...



Yup, I'm not longer going to hang up when you butt dial me. It's too fun not to hang up. I am learning quite a bit about all kinds of people. I have yet to hear you talk about me .. but I just know that will happen eventually - and when it does .. it's going to be sweet music to my ears (because I JUST KNOW .. no one would have anything BAD to say about me .. it will be ALL good .. then I will love you even more)
