I'm going to keep recording Eli's behavior reports. Someday he will read about how hard he made my life. Someday he will say "I'm sure sorry mom". Better yet .. someday he will have a child of his own. Unfortunately ... he will go to work.. meaning he won't be around that adorable child ALL day. BUT again .. someday that child will be MY grandchild .. and boy am I going to have fun with that child. Perhaps buying a set of drums to send home. Maybe a few thousand party blowers. Yeah .. I can't wait.
Got an email from teacher. Again. And she's a good teacher. Kind. Caring. Loves him even though he must get on her every last nerve. Now THAT'S a good teacher.
First email (yup, there was more than one):
"So, speaking of the sub I wanted to make sure that you knew that Eli had a rough day with the sub. Apparently he was teasing another student and making faces at him in class and also wouldn't listen when the sub asked him to do things. He had several warnings from the sub and had to move his stick. Eli will owe me some recess time today."
So .. he is one of THOSE kids. One of THOSE kids that the sub's hate. The little troublemaker. Teacher's out today .. so that means PAR-TAY!!
About an hour later .. here's the second one: (I had responded to the first one apologizing that he was one of THOSE kids)
"You so don't have ONE of those kids - Eli is a little boy and he is goofy sometimes but he is a great kid at heart. I do enjoy having him in my class. Poor guy decided to come into the classroom and wrestle with Jax and I so got onto them - this behavior was part of the problem while the sub was here. Eli's eyes got so big! So, he may come home and tell you that I was not nice today! Oh dear . . "
Oh dear ... ISN'T SHE JUST THE MOST ADORABLE TEACHER EVER???!!!
I wrote her back and again apologized but also expressed my relief that I'm sure glad he's with her today and not me. (is that bad?)
He came running through the door after school ... boys are simple ...
"Hey mom! What's for dinner?"
"I lost both my recesses. That sucked"
"I wish I could go back to grandmom's house. Next time I'll bring my guitar"
Random.
We talked about his behavior. He seems sorry. He says he won't do it again. He's jumping off the kitchen counter right now.
Chances are .. it's not the last email I'll get.

I feel your pain sista! Hang in there, he will turn into an incredible man even though it feels impossible now!
My boys teacher sent them all to the principal's office last night. It had not been a good day. Haven't really had many lately. Let's just say the Principal gave them a stern talking to and today is a little better for at least one of them....still waiting. My guess is that the principal will be back!
BTW- There is absolutely NO WAY I could be a teacher in a classroom full of kids! I give Eli's teacher great praise for her love and patience! She sounds remarkable!
