don't recognize the number.
gamble. pick up.
"hello?"
"Mrs Wester?"
"yes?"
"Hi, this is the assistant principal at Flagstone Elementary. I know your boys are off track right now. But this morning they went to the bus stop and they brought air soft guns with them. Parents have called concerned about the safety of their own children. Could you please have them leave their guns at home next time?"
"sure" (a lot to take in ...)
Wow. Seriously.
I hung up the phone.
And let out a heavy sigh.
My boys get in trouble at school even when they aren't in school.
Fascinating.
That's really hard to do.
What does this say about my parenting skills?
Don't answer that....
but if you need me, I'll be in the basement cutting myself.

.... Wow ....
So, these parents, who probably let their children watch "R" rated movies, or whatever television program they want, which are pretty equal to an extreme "PG-13" and sometimes even an "R" rated feature and let them play games that are rated "M", have a problem with air-soft guns?
I bet you $5 that they would be outraged if they got a call concerning their kid doing something similiar, saying that these items are toys and harmless.
All I can say is wow.
The stories your kids will have to share around the holiday tables when they grow up will be priceless...because I always say, if the kids don't have good stories to tell one day, then we haven't done our job as parents...yours will have plenty to pick from...I hate the PC world where kids can't be kids...sheesh.
Jared likes to shoot me in the butt with his air soft gun, I can testify that it hurts... it really hurts... does that stop him? No.
okay, not sure what an air soft gun is but what ever happen to talking parent to parent. geee!!!! All I can say is Yeah for you for not emasculating your boys!!!! I use to not allow my boys to play with guns, their dad's best friend committed suicide with one and had a friend who's 3 year old son was killed by an accidental shooting. Then one day when they were playing I realized they were play shooting each other without being influenced by "bad movies" or "bad toys" and I realized some things are just that way and boys playing rough and "killing" each other is just a part of their make up. And well kids get hurt when playing, that's just apart of the game... besides who wants a sissy boy anyway??? Thanks for bringing humor to my bland morning, ha ha ha
I sent you something on fb...you're a loving mother Alana!
ps...I bet those kids wished they were off track playing with their own air soft gun!
