February Resolution

Okay this is really super duper stupid. BUT my resolution for this month is to get new tires on my van. I have been putting this off for months now. The poor tires look like the top of a bald man's head. I can't even begin to explain how hard it is to keep this van on the road when it snows. Even being this hazardous on the road still does not motivate me to get them changed. I figure this is the only way it's going to get done. If I make it my resolution. Sad. I have now written it down. That means I HAVE to do it. It's really quite sad that I have to go to these kind of extremes to get something this simple done. I think what really keeps me from doing it is not knowing what kind of tires to get .. will I pay too much and get ripped off or will I pay too little and have to buy new ones all over again next year. I hate doing car mechanical things on my own. That's one department where I get taken .. time and time again. Been burned too many times ... will this be my next? At any rate ... by the end of this month I will have new shiny tires.

I hate dealing with anything car related too. Maybe you should get some big ole mud tires with a 6 inch lift....take a picture so I can see if I want to do it too!:)

Alana, I love how you're going about your 'resolutions' one-month at a time...you're a wise friend!!
About your tires, Rich has had good luck with Discount tires for over 20 yrs.

Maybe that should be a "today resolution." Or you might have a "pulling my car out of a ditch resolution." So hurry and get that one done...Okay.

Sorry I'm so bosy. Miss ya.

Big O is good, I have found Discount Tires is always seems to have better pricing, and even better they almost always have returns that have great life left (often over 90% life left) and they are often 50% or more off the new price. I haven't bought truly new tires in many years. with a few minutes on the computer to get some retail prices and a few minutes on the phone to work out availability you will feel very confident and know you are getting as good a deal as you need. It is much easier to hang up then walk out and the people giving you #'s on the phone know this so they aren't going to be playing any games. the important part here is that you be sure to get the persons name you are speaking with and WRITE IT DOWN. then you have to be sure that they know you have written it down. use it a couple of times maybe even ask how they spell it if you think you can get away with not know already ( sometimes a problem with car maintenance establishments).
