Yes, that would be me. But no longer after last weekend.
I went on a three day trip to the city of sin with five close girl friends. What a wonderful, stress-free trip. Tons of laughter and stomach aches shared by all. Robin, Allyson, Sandy and I got on an afternoon flight Friday night. Shay, Melissa and Shay's friend Megan (who was so much fun) got in about two hours after we landed. Got talked into a towncar ride to the hotel instead of a taxi ride. We met up with the other girls at PF Changs that night. Yes, I did say PF Changs. I know I know, I could have eaten there in Denver. But wait, the next night .. we ate at the Cheesecake Factory in Caesars. Really .. of all the food places to choose from it's where we ended up. Even so I have to say it didn't matter a bit where we ate ... the bonding that took place ... the never ending laughter ... the let-your-hair-down great time .. had nothing to do with the food.
The first night we found our way to Changs simply by chance. After paying $10 for a taxi to take us two blocks in a round about way .. to a restaurant we walked out of .. we decided to walk - Changs was the first place we found (and none to soon as we found out later it wasn't a good idea to be out walking around in that 'seedy' area of town... duh).
I can't even begin to tell how good it felt to be with friends and to laugh. Laughing was just the medicine I needed. I love these girls .. I can totally be myself - goofy, silly and a lot stupid and they still love me! The next day we spent lounging by the pool (YES the pool .. in January .. with buddies - does it get any better??). By about 5ish we decided it was time to hit the strip. First stop was at the Hilton for a show. Menopause the Musical. Highly recommend this show. I nearly peed my pants from laughing hysterically. After the show we toured the Bellagio and Caesars, where we met up with Shay for dinner at .. yep, Cheesecake. Dinner lasted three hours and then we hit more hotels. I thought Vegas was the city that never sleeps but I guess that didn't include the cool fountain that I never got to see. It was just before midnight and we waited and waited and waited longer. No show. Apparently the last show was at 8pm. REALLY??
One side note .. we booked this trip during Super Bowl weekend. Who knew? Out of 7 of us girls no one took that into consideration. Go figure. I did get a chuckle out of that knowledge though .. a busy weekend to go.
The last day was spent by the pool again before heading back out to the airport. It went by so fast but I really had the best time. Got to know some of these girls a bit better and YES, there is something to the "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".
Good times. Good friends. Um, when can I start packing for the next trip??

Did you gamble?! If you did and you are embarassed that other people will know, you can shoot me an email.......
oh I did gamble.. an entire $5.00. Considered it my donation and then quit. I realized that weekend a gambler I am not. I can't stand to see money just like evaporate. No big wins for me!!
