Bad Example

I'm going to hell.

Hayley stayed home from school today to go to various doctor's appt's.

We made a pit stop at home before going out again. The doorbell rang. I anxiously went to answer because I thought it was the Comcast guys coming to fix my internet and phone that had been out for 24 hours.

To my surprise it was "A Cut Above". The dreaded meat guys. Selling meat from trucks. Who knows where that meat really comes from.

First he asked if my mom was home. Then Hayley walks up and he asks if that's my sister.

Is this guy for real?

Of course then he goes into his pitch. Asks if I like a really good steak.

"Um, no. We are vegetarians." He looks at Hayley. "The whole family?" he asks. Hayley is looking at me with her mouth hanging open. "Yes .. all of us. It's what keeps us looking young".

"Have a nice day" and he walks down the street to his next victim.

"MOTHER!!" She was horrified. She said that was the biggest lie she has ever heard me tell. Has she heard me tell others??

I'm a bad bad bad parent. BUT those meat guys sure won't be coming around again.

Don't be so sure about them not coming back, they always do! Just try to make sure Haley isn't around the next time you have to lie for the greater good!

That is SUCH a good line. I'm so going to have to remember that the next time they come for a visit. For real, I said No like ten times to one of those guys and he wouldn't go AWAY! Nice one Alana. :D I'm sure the Lord understands when it comes to door-to-door salesmen. ;o)
