Frenzy

So last night was Fall Frenzy at church. A night full of making crafts, eating and socializing. For me that really meant ... a night full of not making any crafts, eating and socializing.

I go to these every year .. sign up for too many crafts .. work till midnight trying to complete my craft .. only to go home with unfinished projects ... which never gets finished. Too busy running my mouth to finish anything ...

So this year I walked into it being realistic. Gonna sign up for nothing. Go home with nothing .. but a full stomach.

Typical of any time I'm with Allyson ... something funny happened.

We had Sara's new baby ... while Sara helped sew with the service projects they were doing last night as well .. The little guy had just gotten shots that day. So he wasn't happy. Really not happy. A bit miserable. He cried. But was so tired. Allyson walked and rocked him for awhile. I took over for a bit and he finally fell asleep on my shoulder. (SO SWEET .. and he smelled heavenly ... close your eyes .. can you smell it too? ... he happens also to be a beautiful baby. truly).

Then he started whimpering in his sleep ... opened his eyes and started gagging. Ally took him to hold his head up better because we could tell he was struggling and was about to hurl.

That's when it happened. She was holding him up .. facing me ... and up it came. Almost as if she held his face DIRECTLY above my shirt. And it did hit me directly ... down the shirt. Down the bra .. down to the bare skin. Down my stomach .. barely stopping at my pants.

She took the baby immediately laughing. It was just classic. I couldn't stop laughing. As I ran to get paper towels I could hear her laughing from across the church.

It was indeed funny. Really funny. What are the odds?

We decided it would be best to go .... BRACE YOURSELF .... to ....

WALMART.

Uh-huh .. you heard right.

For one .. I'd fit right in. My main shirt had come off in the car .. leaving me in just my undershirt. I had to hold it off of my skin to avoid it touching me. I smelled heavenly (but not quite the same heavenly as the head that was previously on my shoulder). Did I fit in? Absolutely!!!

We headed over to women's clothing. Yes .. I WAS SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES IN WALMART. Uh-huh. It was quite the experience. Fortunately Walmart had a shirt waiting JUST for me. Couldn't have been more appropriate.

(If you can not read it ... the perfect shirt says "Not now I'm tanning")

I bought a new sports bra .. and my perfect shirt (oh and it was a size 19 xxxl .. even more delightful). From Walmart. Changed before we walked back into church.

Well .. so good thing I didn't pay for a craft. All good cause I got a new fly outfit.

It WAS a pretty sweet shirt. Even better now that I know the story behind it.
