Kinda calm

My family has given me NO GOOD MATERIAL lately.


So it's quiet ... even on my blog.


Is this good? Makes me nervous cause I feel like someone's saving something up. And when I least expect it things will explode.


I walk around every corner cautiously. Every unknown caller could potentially be the pricipal .. a teacher ... an emergency call ....


But nothin' so far.

The only new news ...

Hayley got "Employee of the Month" at work. Interesting that she's only been working there for two weeks. Like Shay and I discussed when she first started working ... that Hayley will do fine at work. If she wants to wear jeans .. then she's GOING to wear them. She'll tell you like it is. She's good with people and loves to work at the register. Such a different child from myself - if it were me, I'd prefer working in the back, stocking.


She has stories about someone she's met every time she comes home from work. She's got people skills. Not afraid to meet and greet and learn from others.


My girl told me she has her register set up so she doesn't get bored. How so? She's gone to the magazine section and picked out her favorites and sets them up on the magazine rack beside her so she can read the covers of the ones she likes. Every so often, she goes and switches them out. I was mortified "you CAN'T DO THAT HAYLEY" ... "mother .. I put them all back where they go when I'm done" ...


Another story ... she was completely giddy when she told me this. A guy and his friends from school came to the store to get supplies for a project. He was looking for specific stickers and needed to know if they had any more.


..... back up to the beginning of the school year. she was standing in the lunch line. this guy (who is now at her mercy) walked up to her and told her he was getting in front of her. she told him he couldn't do that. he announced to her that he'll do whatever the hell he wants .....


Back to stickers. She whips out her price gun. "pretends" to scan the stickers and then says "NOPE .. ohhh .. so sorry.... looks like we are out".
Again, me ... "Hayley .. you CAN NOT DO THAT!" ... her response was "well .. he CAN NOT CUT IN FRONT OF ME AND TALK TO ME LIKE THAT .. besides .. didn't you teach me there are consequences for everything you do?"


So employee of the (half) month. Give her 6 months and she'll be the manager. And the uniform will include jeans.

And that's as good as it gets for now. No complaints.
