On a dream ...

Eli, clearly excited to head off to school for the day ...

First of all ... thanks to my good friend Janie for this post. Had it not been for her keen observations at school ... I would have thrown away this little gem of a paper (just like most everything else that comes home in the Thursday folders). Her son, Nathan is in the same class Eli is and she was at school and took note of the proudly displayed art stapled to the wall in the hall.

Apparently ... they were assigned to finish the sentence "I have a dream..." complete with a picture and what their "dream" is.

She made the observation that there were several note worthy dreams. (Mostly by girls, of course) Some being "I have a dream .... to stop world hunger" or "I have a dream ... for world peace" ...

And in the midst of all these 'change the world for the better' dreams .. was Eli's ...

Yes .. that's Eli holding two money bags. I will translate ... because he is above average ... and writes in hieroglyphics.

"I have a dream ...about having a lot of money. and buying things for people. and buying things for me too. and buying things for homeless people too. and buying things to live."

The caption coming out of his self portrait holding the money bags says "uh huh".

That's right. That's my kid. I'm super proud.

Hey - at least he's going to buy things for other peeps. Not so sure my boy would be as generous! :)

Hey, when I first saw the picture, I thought maybe he was robbing those people...(wouldn't that be a funny dream!) turns out he was doing something quite charitable, and buying them things. Good for him!
