I have a really good friend who lives in North Carolina. Tina. Her husband called me her BFA a few months ago and the name stuck. She came to visit me towards the end of August. Seriously .. the BEST time ever.
She's one of those friends who it's just easy with. She's so me. ADHD and all. We literally ran circles around each other. It was like being with me. Tripping over each other. Running into each other. A consistent question floating and then the audible "ohhh" when something obvious is understood.
I really had the most unforgettable time with her. We had an experience together that some people would only dream of. We had an Oprah moment .. we called it. Made possible by the most extraordinary circumstances. Memories were made. A bond was created. Laughs were plentiful. Some of which I can share ... some I just can't. But someday ... when I write my book ... details will emerge. Of the how .. the why .. the who ... But for now... for now ...a lot of it is burned onto my heart ... like a tattoo. Can't take it away from me. Ever.
Pictures really are worth a thousand words. And I guess I needed a lot of words because after she went home I realized we took around 200 of them.
"Even if I have Alzheimers .. I will never forget this week!"
And so my story begins ...
For the love of the gym...
"Alana .. we have to get up. We aren't really at the beach. We are rolling around on the gym floor."
"oh yeah"
A little car time. I'll drive if you take the picture. Check.
A little breakfast time. I recommend Snooze ... you can't breathe after you eat.
A little shopping time. Only new work out clothes were on the agenda ..
This may or may not be inside a limo. And toasting to probably water. Because we may or may not have been able to figure anything else out.
Pedicures. First on the "agenda" ... the well planned ... thought out ... and executed ... "agenda"
Toes. Inside maybe a limo.
Celebrating a birthday. Either early ... or late. Whichever. It's cake.
This may or may not be in a kick ass loft in maybe downtown Denver ...
A king size bed big enough for two ...
Shopping. A lot of shopping. A whole lotta shopping. Paying in $10's.
I love this picture of Tina .. it's joy. The pure kind.
View at dinner. Linger. Recommend.
Lavern and Shirley. Pretty much.
The trip in the form of text memories. Thank you Iphone for the ability to do screen shots.
Google was needed for some answers to important questions ...
Thank you BFA ... until our next epic adventure.
YOLO
