My mom asked if I wanted to do a race with her in October. At first I wasn't really psyched because ... I haven't done any races this season .. and there wasn't much time to train for this either. And of course, I can't do it for fun. Because .. I just don't do that.
BUT THEN she told me to go online and look it up. I did. It was called the Color Run and OMGosh ... how could I possibly say no to this?? You get color bombed over the course of the 5K run and by the end you end up looking like someone dipped you in a rainbow.
No training? No problem. It was a true "fun" run. Not even a timed race if I wanted it to be.
Then I started to get excited. The best part was doing it with my mom. She's really pretty awesome. And fun. I'm so lucky to have this woman in my life ...
It was a beautiful Colorado morning. We got there for the 9am wave. Started out white. Ended up splashed in color. There were different stations set up along the run where they would bomb you a specific color. Jogged/walked with my mom. It was a good learning moment. To take in life .. don't be in a rush. Enjoy the moment you are in.

I brought a couple of the color bombs home for the boys to play with. They decided the best thing to do would be to color bomb Sophie. Of course ... why not?
That was truly ... da bomb. Get it? But honestly ... so much fun ... and next year we plan on doing this again but adding more family members. Meaning .. it can only get MORE FUN!

I've never heard of the color run, but it sounds cool. You have a really cool mom, too. I can't even imagine any of my parents doing a race with me. Your kids are lucky the dog is white. We had a black Lab growing up. Color bombing her wouldn't have worked very well.
