I have a lot to blog about lately but I had to blog what happened yesterday afternoon first...
Hayley and Jackson were so excited to go to the 'park' yesterday after church. Just the two of them. Hayley was more excited than Jackson. This actually sent an alarm off in my head. When does Hayley EVER want to take her brother to the park? Just the two of them. To hang out? Right. Never.
After church they got themselves ready (even before eating .. another red flag). Off they go. I was actually beginning to convince myself of how nice that was. Hayley being the older sister, wanting to bond with her brother. What love! I am doing something right after all.
At about the hour mark I was beginning to wonder what they were doing ... then I had images of Hayley pushing Jackson in the swing. My heart was beginning to swell. Then my thoughts went to how peaceful and quiet my Sunday afternoon was beginning to be.
I was resting in my bed when I heard them come in. I watched Jackson rush past my room up to his with a blanket in his arms. "Hmmm" I thought (another alarm). "What's up with that blanket?" I yelled. "What mom .. we are cleaning up downstairs and I just am bringing my blanket up to my room". Yeah, okay (alarm .. but why get up?)
15 minutes pass.
"HEY MOM WE HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU!!!!!". Three fire alarm is now SCREAMING at me. I remember where these words led me the last time ...
Jackson comes in with that same blanket wrapped around him.
"SURPRISE!!!!"
It's a ... freaking puppy. A shih tzu puppy. Full bred. Tiny. Me frowning. Where the hell did THIS come from??
A trip to the 'park' was a trip to Hayley's friend's house ... they breed these puppies and this one was the last from the litter that they couldn't sell. They agreed to take all of Jackson's bday money - $60, for this puppy.
UH - NOOOOOOOOO!!
Luckily the parents understood when we promptly took the puppy BACK to them.
Seriously? A puppy? Another dog? We need that like we need another hole in our heads.
Why do my children want to weaken my heart like this??

It's your own fault for resting on your bed. You know no good comes from a nap.
LOL
